For this project, we are developing transcriptomes of oocyte, embryo, and pharate larval tissue reared under diapause-inducing and diapause-avoiding conditions. Our ultimate goal is to identify genes and pathways that are important for the diapause response in Ae. albopictus, throughout the trajectory of diapause in this species.

Embryonic transcriptome:
We have made reads and contigs from our study of Ae. albopictus embryonic sequences available for download, or as a blast search:
Illumina Hi-Seq reads were generated from mRNA from eggs collected 72-78 or 135-141 hours post-oviposition, reared under diapause-inducing ("SD") or diapause-avoiding ("LD") photoperiods. These quality-filtered reads are available in the "Data/Downloads" section.
We performed a merged assembly of the embryo and oocyte reads, details of which will be available in a forthcoming publication. Here, we have made available all quality-filtered contigs from this assembly, as well as all of these contigs that we annotated, and have used in subsequent analyses of differential expression. These files are also available in the "Data/Downloads" section.
Pharate larval transcriptome:
We have sequenced pharate larval mRNA from eggs collected 11d , 21d, and 40d post-oviposition, reared under diapause-inducing or diapause-avoiding photoperiods. We will make the sequences, and information on the sequences, available shortly.
